FAQ
Question.
I have an existing web site that I want to keep.
I would just like you to change how it looks.
Can you do this?
Answer.
Although web sites can be very flexible, the coding required to put it all together can be very complex. It's usually much easier to create a new web site from scratch, rather than trying to modify someone else's existing code.
It can be done but may not be the most efficient or cost effective.
Your website's "look and feel" can be something we work on from scratch, or something based on ideas you have seen in other websites that you like. Or a design that has already been made for you.
Question.
How long will it take to get my web site completed and online?
Answer.
Professional web sites require care and planning to do things right. In most cases, I suggest allowing 6-8 weeks for a site's completion. The timeline is very much dependant on just how complex the website is, and well-prepared and available is the client content- if they have their text written, photos taken, and various other details worked out.
For some clients, a web site completed within a days. For others, the process turns out to be in weeks rather than days.
Question.
Are you available to take over maintenance of my web site even if it was designed by another company?
Answer.
Possibly. Much depends on the scope of your needs. I would access your requirements and see how it fits with my workload.
Question.
How much does a web site cost?
Answer.
There are quite a few factors that are going to affect the ultimate cost of your web site. These factors include how many pages you are going to have, if you will sell products on your website, the graphic work involved, and how interactive your future web site will be. You will also need web hosting and domain name registration.
Question.
Do I have to keep my website with you forever, or can I move it to another supplier to host it if I wish?
Answer.
You may move your website to another web hosting service at any time. Once your website design has been completed, we can provide you with a copy of the website on cd/dvd. This copy of your website is for your retention
Question.
Should I update my browser?
Answer.
Yes, older browsers are often not capable of displaying newer web sites properly. Newer versions of browsers offer you a better viewing experience, with more interactive content and nicer graphics.
"Browser compatibility" refers to the fact that different web browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari etc.) can interpret web site code in different ways. Thus, a web site may display differently from computer to computer. The latest versions of browsers have closer compatibility than older versions, another good reason to update to a recent version.
